((عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ ))

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet

"Verily Allah does not look at your face and your wealth, but He looks at your heart

and your deeds.”. (narrated by Imam Bukhari and Muslim)

Answer the following:

1.     What is the significance of the saying by the Prophet (SAW) “ But He looks at your heart and deeds”?
Ans.   The saying of the Prophet (SAW) shows the role of intention with regard to man’s accountability. Allah will not bring man to account for the differences in his body shapes or his color or complexion. But he brings him into account for his intentions and he must bear the consequences of his deeds. 

2.     Compare between healthy heart and diseased heart?
Ans. A diseased heart is the one which is full of evil. Wrong deeds and sins and immoral actions come out of this type of heart. A healthy heart is the one which is full of good. Good deeds and good manners come of healthy heart.

3.     Explain some ways for purifying heart?
Ans. There are many ways to purify heart. It includes material and moral ways. Material ways include taking care of orphans and needy. The moral ways include supplication and remembrance of Allah (SWT)

4.     How did traditions explain Omar (R.A)‘s personality?
Ans.  Omar (R.A) was too wise to be deceived and too devout to deceive others.

5.      What is expected from a man regarding his wealth?
Ans. Islam encourages to grow money and use it for good without parsimony or extravagance. They should perform the rights and duties related to wealth such as Zakat and charity. It should not be used to harm to anyone.

6.     What is expected from a man regarding his attire?
Ans.   Muslims should keep good appearance  for the sake of Allah (SWT). It is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: Allah is beautiful and He likes beauty. He should cover intimate body parts and maintain cleanliness of body and clothes. He should keep nice smell and comb his hair. He should avoid forbidden dressing such as man imitating women or woman imitating men.
